Here is a list of stuff I would suggest you bring to Nicaragua.

- Sleeping bag and towel for training camp
- Cloths that you like to wear and a some that you don’t mind getting dirty in. (We will be going out and you will want to look your best as times so just keep that in mind) (We will also be getting really dirty and may be painting so bring cloths you don’t mind messing up)

- Ladies you will need to bring atleast one dress for church. (It needs to be below your knees)

- Guys, bring a nice pair of jeans or dress pants for church.

- Underwear and socks

- Soap, Shampoo, Contacts (if you wear them), rewetting drops, contact solution, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, shaving cream, razors, and all of the toiletries you use at home. (We can restock on most of this in Nicaragua so just bring enough to get you by for the start of the journey)

- Make up, etc. for the girls (I am not a girl so I am not sure what all you use but you know what you need so bring what you need)

- Hair straightener (Not all of you need to bring one but on my squad a couple girls brought them and all the girls appreciated it when it was time to look cute) (Communicate with each other so someone brings one but not all of you)

- Tampons

- Some people are artists and like to bring art supplies

- Computer

- Watch

- Wallet/Purse

- Bank cards (inform your bank that you are going to Nicaragua for four months so they don't put a hold on your account and talk to them about ATM fees. They may reimburse you for them. There is also a bank online, Schwab.com,  that does not charge you for ATM fees. It is a good route to take if you have time to set up an account and get your card)

- Sandals, Running shoes

- Some people like internal backpacks but I am bringing a rolling suitcase

- A few books (books will be passed around so not to many)

- Bible

- Passport

- Day pack- some kind of backpack that you can take with you into town and to the beach.

- Head lamp

- Camera

- Meds/ Vitamins

- Chargers for all electronics

- I am bringing a baseball glove so if you want to throw with me then bring a glove.

- Swimsuit

- Belt

- Ipod and headphones

- Journal (if you keep one)

- External hard drive for all of your pictures or flash drives

These are some items I suggest but just keep in mind that you are going to Nicaragua for four months and you will use a lot of the same things that you use in America. You really don’t have to spend a whole lot of money at REI before you go. I made the mistake of spending over $1000 at REI before I left for The World Race and some of it was useful but I could have saved a lot of money by not purchasing things that I really didn’t need. There is a 50 lbs weight limit for checked bags. Good luck packing and see you in a couple weeks!
