Hey! My name is Haille Krieg.
I'm from Livonia, MI, the biggest suburb of Detroit.
I just graduated this past spring from high school. I was originally going to take a year off from school to pursue a singing career. However, I went on a missions trip to Honduras this summer and found my heart in a different place. I felt God telling me that he wanted me to devote my life to missions work. So, I talked to my youth pastor about it, and he suggested taking a missions trip around 6 months long to make sure it's what I really wanted to do. I researched a bunch of organizations and finally found adventures in missions. After praying about the different trips offered, I decided on Nicaragua.
Currently I'm working two jobs, I actually just started both! I work as a sales associate at The Gap and as a barista at Biggby Coffee....Which is kind of a Mid-West (mostly Michigan) chain. Around here, we're Starbucks competition...I could go on and on about why we're better but I suppose that's a conversation for later ;)
It's been a huge blessing to get hired at two places that I LOVE and all the people I work with are amazing.
Well, as for my hobbies and such...obviously I love singing. I've been singing since I was...well 18 months old, but only started pursuing it as something more a few years ago. Since I was 9 years old, I've always loved acting in plays. It wasn't until I was in a musical that I decided I liked the singing aspect more than the acting. I took voice lessons for a couple years, did a bunch of open mics, and sang in church quite a bit, youth group every week. I still struggle sometimes with the decision to not pursue a singing career. I love where I'm headed right now in my life, but the selfish part of me wishes I could be auditioning for stuff and that kind of thing.
I still plan on making music a big part of my life though. There's a college in Illinois that offers a degree in music with an emphasis on Music in Missions. So I'm planning on checking that out soon.
I have been on a couple of missions trips. The first was when I was 14, and I went with my youth group to Louisiana to help out with Hurricane Katrina relief. Also, like I said, I went to Honduras this summer with my youth group as well. That was really such a life changing experience. I'm stoked to be able to go back to Central America! It's GORGEOUS there...for those of you that have never been...i'm positive you'll love it :)
I'm so excited to meet all of you! I can't wait to see what God does with our lives during our trip.
